From Long-term Plans to Flagships: Indonesia’s Reordered Development Agenda
President Prabowo Subianto has introduced a development approach centered on three flagship programmes: the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) initiative, the Danantara state investment agency, and the Red and White village cooperatives. This marks a shift from reliance on technocratic long-term planning frameworks such as the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2025–2045. The programmes aim to address human capital, restructure state-owned enterprises, and expand rural economic access. Their effectiveness will depend on implementation capacity, fiscal sustainability, and consistency with Indonesia’s industrial, technological, and green development objectives.
