Unlocking Economic Potential: Digital Transformation, Business Resilience, and Thailand's Local Digital Economy

Digital transformation (DT) plays a significant role in strengthening Thailand’s local digital economy (LDE) among very small enterprises (VSEs), with business resilience (BR) serving as a key mediating mechanism. Survey data from 370 VSEs in Bangkok and surrounding provinces, analyzed using structural equation modeling, show that DT significantly improves LDE performance both directly and indirectly through BR. The indirect effect is substantially larger, accounting for nearly 70% of the total relationship. These findings highlight resilience as a critical capability for translating digital adoption into sustained competitiveness and local economic value.
