The Study of Economic Growth and Tourism Industry in Thailand

Thailand’s economic growth is closely linked to tourism, visa exemption policies, trade flow, and employment conditions. Using data from 1995–2019, the findings show that tourism activity, broader visa exemptions, and trade flow are positively associated with GDP, while higher unemployment is negatively associated with economic growth. Government education spending, however, does not show a significant positive relationship with GDP, reflecting structural challenges within the education system. The findings highlight tourism and visa policies as important economic drivers, while recommending stronger education policies and continued tourism support to promote sustainable economic growth and employment.
